Productivity Tools

Running a store means doing a lot of small tasks every day. CartOS includes productivity features designed to help you work faster—keyboard shortcuts, bulk actions, quick search, and tools that eliminate repetitive clicking.

Quick Actions

Quick Actions is your command center for getting things done fast. Access it by clicking the Quick Actions button in your admin header or pressing Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows).

A search bar appears where you can type what you want to do. Start typing and Quick Actions suggests matching commands, pages, and recently viewed items. Hit Enter to execute immediately.

What you can do

  • Navigate anywhere – Type "orders" to jump to Orders, "settings payments" to go to payment settings
  • Create new items – Type "new product," "new order," or "new customer" to start creating
  • Search your store – Type a product name, order number, or customer email to find it instantly
  • Access reports – Type "sales report" or "inventory report" to jump directly there
  • Run common tasks – Type "export products" or "import customers" to start those workflows

Quick Actions learns from your behavior. The commands and pages you use most frequently appear higher in suggestions.

Bulk actions

When you need to update many items at once, bulk actions save hours of repetitive work.

Selecting items

In any list view (products, orders, customers), use the checkboxes to select items. Click the header checkbox to select all visible items, or select all items matching your current filter.

Available bulk actions

Once items are selected, a bulk actions bar appears with available operations. What's available depends on the item type:

Products:

  • Add to collection / Remove from collection
  • Add tags / Remove tags
  • Set availability (active, draft, archived)
  • Update prices (set, increase, decrease by amount or percentage)
  • Update inventory quantities
  • Delete products
  • Export selected

Orders:

  • Print packing slips
  • Create shipping labels
  • Mark as fulfilled
  • Add tags
  • Archive orders
  • Export selected

Customers:

  • Add tags / Remove tags
  • Add to customer group
  • Send email (via Automation Bolt)
  • Export selected

Bulk editor

For more complex bulk edits, use the Bulk Editor. Go to Products › Bulk Editor to open a spreadsheet-like view of your products.

You can edit multiple fields across multiple products in one view—prices, compare-at prices, SKUs, inventory, tags, and more. Click into any cell to edit, use Tab to move between cells, and changes save automatically.

Filter the view to show only the products you want to edit. Select specific columns to focus on the fields you're updating. When you're done, all changes are saved and your catalog is updated.

Saved views and filters

If you frequently need to see the same filtered list—like unfulfilled orders from this week or products with low inventory—save it as a view.

Apply your filters, then click Save View. Give it a name and it appears in your sidebar for one-click access. Saved views stay current—they always show items matching the filter criteria, not a static snapshot.

Default filters

CartOS includes useful default filters on list pages:

  • Orders: Unfulfilled, Unpaid, Open, Archived
  • Products: Active, Draft, Archived, Low inventory, Out of stock
  • Customers: New this month, Repeat customers, Email subscribers

Import and export

Moving data in and out of CartOS in bulk is straightforward with CSV import/export.

Exporting

Export products, customers, orders, or inventory from their respective pages. Click Export, choose what to include, and download a CSV file. Exports respect your current filters—if you're viewing only active products, only active products export.

Importing

Import products, customers, or inventory from CSV files. Go to the relevant section and click Import. Upload your file, map columns to CartOS fields, preview the import, and confirm.

For product imports, you can create new products, update existing ones (matched by handle or SKU), or both. This makes it easy to do bulk updates in a spreadsheet and push them back to CartOS.

Templates

If you frequently create similar items, templates speed things up.

Product templates

Create a product template with common settings—vendor, product type, tags, tax settings, shipping requirements. When creating new products, select a template to pre-fill those fields.

Email templates

In the Automation Bolt, save email templates for messages you send regularly. Customer follow-ups, promotional announcements, order updates—create once, reuse with personalization.

Saved replies

If you handle customer support through CartOS, saved replies let you respond to common questions quickly. Create replies for FAQs, then insert them with a few keystrokes.

Duplicate and clone

Need to create something similar to what you already have? Duplicate it.

On any product, click Duplicate to create a copy with all the same details. Make your changes and save. This is much faster than starting from scratch when adding product variations or seasonal versions.

You can duplicate products, collections, discount codes, and automation workflows.

Recent and favorites

CartOS remembers what you've been working on. Recently viewed products, orders, and customers appear in Quick Actions and in a recents list for fast access.

Star items you access frequently to add them to your favorites. Favorites appear at the top of Quick Actions suggestions and in the sidebar for one-click access.

Multi-tab workflows

The CartOS admin is designed to work well with multiple browser tabs. Open a product in a new tab to reference it while working on something else. Each tab maintains its own state, and changes in one tab don't disrupt your work in another.

Right-click any link in the admin to open it in a new tab, or Cmd/Ctrl-click for the same effect.

Mobile admin

Need to check on your store from your phone? The CartOS admin is fully responsive. View orders, check inventory, respond to customers, and monitor your dashboard from any device.

For quick checks while away from your desk, the mobile view focuses on the most common tasks. For detailed work, you'll probably want a full screen, but mobile has you covered in a pinch.
